John Lewis – House
I shoot all the John Lewis HOUSE range. This brand is their stylish and affordable range of household products aimed at modern living. All shots for the packaging are shot in black and white so tonal variety and contrast is essential to create simple but striking shots. This month we have been shooting some of the lamps in the range, so there are many differing shapes, surfaces, textures and tones to consider. Often I’ll light for one part of the subject and then move onto another. We can then put it all together afterwards in retouching to get exactly what we want out of the shot. That way there is no compromising on any one area.
